The care your NHS staff have my 2yr old daughter for tonsillitis was exemplary. However we had an out of hours appointment with Westcall booked for 7.40pm.We arrived at The Royal Berkshire Hospital at 7.20pm & booked in straight away. My daughter had her temperature & blood pressure taken by a nurse (who was lovely)within 10 minutes but then had to go back into the waiting room & wait another 2hrs for my daughter to be seen at approximately 9.45pm by a doctor who then prescribed antibiotics. I would like to reiterate that the NHS staff were all amazing however the only reason I can see for my daughter to have her temperature & blood pressure taken was to make it look like we’d been seen within the allotted NHS waiting list time! This seems to look a bit like smoke & mirrors tbh. I don’t understand why we had an appointment but then were seen 2hrs after this time meaning that there were no pharmacies open at 9.40pm & I’ve had to wait another 12hrs to be able to collect antibiotics which means my 2yr old has suffered unnecessarily.

See the patients within at least an hour of the appointment if possible,meaning that we can then get our children the appropriate treatment.

Spoke to the family. Satisfied with the district nurses saying someone always come to help.

The living well garden club ,provides a space for my mother in law time to see others and interact with them with support of the memory clinic staff . I gives me as a carer an opportunity to dicuss any issues I may have had which were challenging in an informal basis and which direction I need to go if I need more help .
